Awards
At the 1998 International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery meeting in Washington D.C., Dr. Norwood received the two highest awards given
in the field of hair restoration surgery. No other single physician has ever received both of these awards in the past.
The Golden Follicle Award is given for outstanding scientific contributions
to the correction of hair loss and improvement of hair restoration surgery.
Dr. Norwood is only the second recipient of the Manfred Lucas Award. The other recipient was Dr. Orentreich,
the founder of hair restoration surgery. It is given for outstanding
contribution to the field of hair restoration surgery.
In his eye opening book The Bald Truth about the myths and realities of hair loss and therapy, author Spencer David Kobren
recognizes only eleven hair restoration specialists in North America as being among the most highly regarded and recommended
in the global battle against hair loss. Both Dr. Norwood and Dr. Lehr were among those eleven.
